The Janitor is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties to ensure buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. This role involves using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals, managing cleaning supplies, and notifying management of major repairs needed. The Janitor II ensures compliance with safety regulations and contributes to a hygienic and safe environment for employees and visitors. Responsibilities: Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, remove rubbish, and vacuum areas to maintain cleanliness. Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and handle hazardous materials responsibly. Inspect and repair motorized cleaning equipment to ensure it is in working order. Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment needed for maintenance. Maintain floor clearing equipment to ensure proper operation. Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report unsafe or items need repair to the facilities team immediately. Qualifications You Must Have: High school diploma or GED equivalent. 1 years of experience in a related field. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation. Ability to complete scheduled, routine tasks quickly and efficiently without close supervision. Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and working on a stationary ladder. Familiarity with the safe use of tools and cleaning products. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required Qualifications We Prefer: Certification in custodial or janitorial services. Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Familiarity with advanced cleaning equipment and safety procedures. Previous experience as a janitor Experience working with hand and power tools Essential Functions: Ability to work on-site. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift. Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to work in potentially hazardous or loud environments.
