Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedic Unit - Full-Time, Day Shift

Join our team of highly skilled & dedicated nurses on our
Orthopedic unit. Our associates provide excellent, compassionate
care for our patients as well as each other.
Individuals that join our Orthopedic unit will be cross trained on
both Med Surg and Orthopedic departments, which will give you the
opportunity to gain skills and knowledge to care for Orthopedic
postoperative patients and multiple diagnoses in Med Surg.
One of our Orthopedic nurses brought the Daisy Award , a national
nursing recognition program, to Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. This
program provides quarterly award ceremonies to recognize
outstanding nursing staff.
We strongly believe in sharing unit decision making with our unit
staff so we created a Shared Governance Council that consists of
Nurses and Patient Care Technicians. This council meets monthly to
solve issues on the unit and address agenda topics to make out
Our departments love giving back to the community they serve and
participated in the Coats for Kids program last year that assisted
a local church with setting up their coat donation program.
As a member of Ascension St. Vincent Carmel , you will be a part of
the largest Catholic mission-driven, not-for-profit health care

We are looking for nurses to join our Medical Surgical and
Orthopedic teams. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. Each
unit has 16 beds
Patients We Serve
Our patient population includes young adults to geriatric patients
with medical diagnoses that cover all systems and surgical patients
experiencing abdominal, rectal, orthopedics, plastics, breast, and

Shift: Full-Time, Day shift, 7AM - 7:30PM, Sunday - Saturday -
Full-Time (36 hours) a week; scheduled every third weekend
(Saturday/Sunday). Shifts are 12 hours.
Experience preferred: Minimum of one-year clinical nursing
experience as an RN in an acute care Med Surg or Ortho setting. RN
New Graduates welcome.

What You Will Do
As an Associate with St. Vincent Health-IN, you will have the
opportunity to provides direct nursing care in accordance with
established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare
- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records
and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for
well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs
with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job
- One or more of the following:
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing
obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC) obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date. Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
- Minimum of one-year clinical nursing experience as an RN in an
acute care Med Surg or Ortho setting preferred. RN New Graduates
