qualified Med/Surg RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202! Pay
Information $2,139 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum 2 years required License: Must have Indiana or compact
license Certifications: BCLS, NIH Must-Have: IV Starts Description:
Effective 11/30/2024, Indiana RNs will not be permitted to work in
certain facilities. Perioperative and Allied RNs are exempt from
this rule. These Indiana travelers are allowed to work past the
deadline. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend as per
their contract. Based on operational needs, consecutive weekends
may be required. Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse
responsibilities may be needed with provided training and
resources. Unit travelers may be required to float to different
levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU). Staffing ratios are 1:5-6. The
unit cares for a wide variety of neuro trauma, including patients
from neuro critical care after acute events. The age range of
patients varies from 15 to 100. Patients often present with
conditions such as MVA, stroke, seizure, brain and spinal cord
injuries, and tumors. Early mobility and rehabilitation are
significant focuses, with daily collaboration with therapy staff.
Nurses will perform primary care with excellent team support. The
staff is expected to manage procedures such as in and out
catheters, lines, g-tubes, lumbar punctures, tracheostomies, PCA
pumps, and wound vacs. Two to three surgeries occur daily, with
most patients having had acute neuro-trauma. Floating is mandatory
for all travelers within the facility or to nearby affiliate
