qualified PCU RN in Dayton, Ohio, 45409! Pay Information $2,903 per
week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: Night Hours
per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in step down or
progressive care unit. License: Active RN license required.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: - Experience with
ventilators. - EPIC experience. - Must pass an online EKG tele
competency assessment before starting the assignment. - Ability to
read and interpret cardiac strips. Description: The unit is
trialing team nursing where two nurses and a PCT partner together
care for a group of patients. The goal of this model is to divide
the work without splitting the patient load, ultimately improving
both workload and patient care. During this trial, nurses may
function in either team nursing or primary nursing depending on the
status of the trial. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4 but can vary
up to 1:5-6. Experience in managing patients with respiratory
issues is necessary. The population primarily consists of
conditions such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, flu, sepsis, diabetic
ketoacidosis, and post-COVID care. With the support of respiratory
therapists, the team cares for patients with tracheostomies,
ventilators, BiPAPs, and those requiring high oxygen levels.
Insulin drips for DKA patients and other medication drips may also
be part of the care. Nurses will be fitted for N95 masks and must
ensure compliance with safety protocols. Travelers may float to
other units as needed. The role includes working weekends and
holidays as scheduled. Cancellation of shifts may occur due to low
census during the contract period. No more than 14 days of requests
for time off are permitted, and requests must be stated upfront.
This position does not accept local candidates for the RN
specialty. Temporary licenses are acceptable and can be applied for
