Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/07/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Work on a 31-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery • Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends • Must have 3-4 level experience in Bariatric Surgery, Thyroidectomy, Bowel Obstruction, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) • Required certifications: BLS • 2 years of nursing experience required • Must have experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries (prescreen requirement) • Floating required to other med-surg units within hospital or affiliate hospitals • Weekend coverage required - must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • 24-hour orientation provided • Care for adult and geriatric patients with post-op diagnoses including orthopedic, bariatric, uro-GYN, and colorectal cases • Skills include peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac, and post-surgical care • Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation • Charge pay opportunities available with $3.00 per hour increase • Up to 5 days of non-holiday requested time off can be auto-approved Facility: This healthcare organization operates a comprehensive medical center providing specialized surgical services with a focus on general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric procedures.
