Coach engineers to develop skills necessary to support the coordination for scheduled transmission and generation outages. This position utilizes strong facilitation, problem solving, and customer service mind-set to drive performance improvement initiatives and support long-term strategic planning. Responsible for coaching and training of new engineers within the team, provide input to the budget, and project development and implementation. Serve as liaison between Outage Coordination and other internal customers and external stakeholders.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Manager of Outage Coordination in providing guidance, mentorship and leadership for engineers responsible for coordination of transmission and generation outages.Establish and monitor department goals to achieve objectives; ensuring individual employee goals are also aligned with departmental and corporate objectives.Evaluate and manage employee performance, and establish employee training and development plans that align with organization development philosophy.Recommend hiring decisions, establish training plans, and provide career guidance.Interact with other members of management and staff to ensure that the services provided by Outage Coordination are meeting the needs of the division and are consistent with MISO's vision and business direction.Provide opportunities for staff to develop new knowledge, skills, and abilities.Assist management with preparing department/divisional budgets and forecasts ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.Coach team on individual performance and process improvement methodologies.Design, measure, track, and analyze data to assess and improve customer/stakeholder satisfaction to ensure department meets customer service objectives. Support and serve on internal and external committees, task forces, and working groupsProvide guidance on industry best practices and standards and complete when necessary powerflow analysis, contingency analysis, other engineering support studies including operating studies and investigations, and reports QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related degree, required.Eight or more years of related professional experience (preferred)Two years of management experience (preferred)Previous energy industry experience (required)NERC certification, (preferred)Three or more years of transmission operations, planning, or reliability coordination required.Three or more years utilizing off-line power flow tools, EMS security applications, PSS/E required.
