POSITION TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Technician Part-Time
DIVISION: Recreation & Facilities
REPORTS TO: Facilities Maintenance Coordinators
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-time
PAY RANGE: $12.00 - $14.00/hr Purpose of Position: The purpose of
this part-time position is to perform the labor functions to ensure
that our facilities and associated grounds are developed and
maintained to a high standard. Duties include facility maintenance,
preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair and
installation tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The
following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be
construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be
required and assigned. Perform various manual work tasks associated
with the repair and preventative maintenance of park grounds,
recreation facilities, and equipment, including traveling to

equipment for potential purchase.
Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance functions in and
around park facilities; pick up and empty trash.
Enforce park rules, regulations and policies.
Provide general support for special events.
Comply with all codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards,
policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as required Knowledge, Skills, &
Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions: Ability to
utilize various equipment and tools associated with facilities
cleaning and maintenance operations, including, but not limited to
utility vehicles, trucks, power tools, lifts, skid loaders,
shovels, snow blowers and hand tools.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with
supervisor, coworkers and members of the public.
Knowledge of cleaning and routine facilities maintenance
procedures, equipment and supplies.
Ability to think critically and problem solve building and
maintenance issues in a proactive manner.
Ability to exercise good judgment.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Ability to exert heavy, physical effort, typically involving some
combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling,
crouching or crawling, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing and/or
pulling of objects and materials 20-50 pounds regularly, and as
much as 75-100 occasionally.
Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse
environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollens, odors,
wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes,
machinery, vibrations, traffic hazards, toxic agents, disease or
pathogenic substances. Qualifications Required to Perform Essential
Job Functions: Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year related experience involving facilities
maintenance or construction or any equivalent combination of
education, training and experience that provides the requisite
knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
Driving is an essential function of this position and individual
must possess and maintain a valid Indiana driver's license and be
